At CNET.com, a preview for Samsung YP-D1 has been posted ‘At first glance, the Samsung YP-D1 looks strikingly like a cell phone. This is both unsurprising–the company produces plenty of mobiles–and a little misleading since making phone calls is one of the few things this flash-based MP3 player can’t do. What the YP-D1 can do is take still pictures with its built-in 2-megapixel camera, which happens to have a 4X zoom lens–not too shabby for an MP3 player. HardwareZone has also taken a look at Samsung YP-D1 MP3 Player - ‘A meticulous glance through its specifications reveals that the YP-D1 has much more to offer than merely playing audio files and taking still images. Making GSM calls is definitely not possible but what you do get out of this little gem apart from its main functions are voice recording, digital photo album with slide show function, onboard speakers for jukebox playback, USB storage, video recording, FM radio and TV-output. Considering all these functions are available from a player of such diminutive dimensions, it wouldn’t be inappropriate to classify the Samsung YP-D1 as a portable media player at all.’
