Creative Zen Micro Photo (8GB) Reviews
Creative Zen Micro Photo (8GB) Reviews
|
CNET editors has reviewed Creative Zen Micro Photo (8GB) and gave it an ‘Excellent’ rating, 8.3 out of 10. Creative Zen Micro Photo also received CNET Editor’s Choice.
The good: The Creative Zen Micro Photo features a bright, colorful OLED that’s viewable from any angle, and it’s available in a choice of 10 body colors. This MP3 player also includes useful extra features such as a user-replaceable battery, a voice recorder, a photo viewer, an FM tuner, and an onboard calendar and task manager that syncs with Microsoft Outlook. The Zen Micro Photo is also out-of-the-box compatible with Janus (Windows Media DRM 10) and offers excellent sound quality.
The bad: Unfortunately, the Creative Zen Micro Photo doesn’t let you listen to music and browse photos simultaneously, and album art is not supported at this time. The touch pad on this device can take some getting used to.
The bottom line: The Creative Zen Micro Photo is an excellent full-featured MP3 player and, for its size, a decent photo viewer; it just doesn’t combine the two effectively.

Windows A to Z! has posted a review for Creative Zen Micro Photo (8GB, Black) and like CNET, has awarded the mp3 player the Editor’s choice -’In conclusion, the Creative Zen Micro Photo is an excellent alternative to Apple’s iPod music player. It’s nicely design navigation menus and controls make it easy to use and perfect for anyone, music enthusiast or not. That’s why we gave the Creative Zen Micro Photo our editors’ choice award.
infoSync World has given Creative Zen Micro a favourable review but complaint about the mediocre battery life - ‘Harbouring an intriguing OLED colour display and good-looking, intuitive menu system, the Creative Zen Micro Photo is at first sight a must-have audio player. Unfortunately, an overly sensitive touchpad, a mediocre battery life and poor bass performance bluntly decapitates this player’s potential for excellent overall performance. For those who want a small, HDD-based audio player with roomy storage and favour music that doesn’t go bump in the night, though, the Creative Zen Micro Photo comes recommended.’
PC Magazine has awarded the Creative Zen MicroPhoto the PC Magazine Editor’s Choice award. The battery life is a major gripe they like the fact that it has a removable battery - ‘Given the choice between the Zen MicroPhoto and the Philips GoGear HDD1630 (an 8GB version of that player, called the HDD1850, is now available), the Creative player has a slight edge in usability and screen quality. Although its tested battery life isn’t great, we also like the fact that it has a removable battery. And let us not forget to mention that it is available in ten colors.’
t-break has also posted a review for the Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8GB. They writes - ‘All in all, Creative does a pretty good job with the Micro Photo. While it may not be as stylish as an iPod, it still looks pretty good and has better features and sound quality along with a whopping 8GB storage capacity.’
